About Me

Dear wanderers,

Welcome to my little corner of magic.

Hi, I’m Madalina, a Romanian self-taught illustrator. I live in a big city with my husband, our kids, and our cat… though in my heart, I’m somewhere in a small mountain cottage.

I started drawing a few years ago, when the world felt a little too loud and I needed a way to quiet my thoughts. I’ve always loved working with my hands - knitting, crocheting, and creating all sorts of things - but for a long time, I didn’t believe drawing was one of my “talents.”

As a child, I adored my storybooks and would trace the characters I loved, but never thought I could truly draw. It turns out, practice can change everything. If I learned to paint, I truly believe anyone can.

I began with realistic watercolor paintings, and you’ll still find pieces like that in my shop. But over time, my art naturally drifted toward fantasy worlds and magical realms - my way of bringing a little wonder into everyday life.

C.S. Lewis once wrote: “Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.” I feel like I’ve reached that moment. It began when my children were born and I started telling them bedtime stories - many of them invented on the spot. Somewhere along the way, those stories found their way into my art.

I draw my inspiration from nature, books, and films. When I’m not creating, you’ll probably find me wandering through the mountains, listening to the sea, curled up with a good book, or watching a fantasy movie. I love cute, whimsical things - talking mice and sassy geese - as much as I love dragons, forest creatures, and strong women who shape their own stories.

As my style evolved, so did my tools. I now work with gouache, colored pencils, and more recently, digital illustration - so you’ll find a mix of mediums in my work.

In my shop, you’ll find original artworks, fine art prints on cotton paper, bookmarks and postcards printed on FSC-certified paper, as well as stickers and small artful details.

I love creating pieces that tell a story and I find it magical how each person can see something different in them.

Thank you for being here.
Let’s create a few fairytales together.
